The Importance of Proactive Car Repairs

After I started working full time, I realized that I didn't have a ton of spare time to deal with broken cars. I was tired of struggling with the normal sounds and smells that my car was emitting, so I started thinking more carefully about proactive car repairs. I started abiding by the maintenance schedule and carefully reviewing my service records. It was a lot of work, but I was able to make a complete record of my car care and plan for future services. After carefully tweaking my vehicle, I was able to completely overhaul the system and make things right. Check out this blog to find out why car repairs are so important.

3 Signs Your Brakes Need To Be Serviced

Your vehicle's brakes need to be in top shape when you drive your vehicle, or you could wind up in an accident, injuring yourself, your family, or someone else. Your brakes should be inspected often, monitored, and serviced whenever needed. Continuing to drive with bad brakes is a terrible idea and is extremely unsafe. If you aren't sure when to have your brakes serviced, there are signs you should watch out for that would indicate a problem. Read on for some of the signs that your brakes need to be serviced.

1. Your Vehicle Takes Longer To Stop

If you notice that when you attempt to brake it takes you longer to actually get your vehicle to stop, the problem is more than likely that your brakes are worn out. This is a problem, and what could end up causing an accident, if you attempt to stop abruptly and are not able to get your vehicle to stop in time. A collision could occur, and it would be due to driver negligence and driving a vehicle unsafe for the road.

2. Your Vehicle Braking System Is Making Noise

If you notice noises when you attempt to apply the brakes, it could be a screeching noise or a grinding noise, they could be a sign that your brakes need to be serviced. These noises are usually indicators of worn-out brake pads or worn-out rotors. If you hear these noises, get your vehicle into a brake specialist to have your brakes inspected and the brake pads or rotors changed immediately. Continuing to drive your vehicle this way may result in other vehicle issues.

3. Your Vehicle's Brake Light Is On

If you have a brake light on in your vehicle, it may be a sure sign that your brakes need some type of service. The brake light may indicate an issue with your brake pads being low. This may be a sensor on your vehicle that would indicate the issue and you should have your vehicle looked at if you notice the light is on your dashboard indicator lights.

If you have noticed any of these signs in your vehicle, you should have your brakes inspected right away. Your brakes are very important on your vehicle, and they could save a life—yours, your family member or another loved one, or someone else's. If you have an issue with your brakes, get it to a brake service company, Stapley's Garage, right away.
